Creditors Bureau Associates has taken the necessary steps to understand the environment that we work
in. There are laws and rules that regulate how we operate our business. These laws can get very
complicated. We train collectors thoroughly in all areas pertaining to the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act
(FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Health Insurance
Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and they are updated continuously on rulings put in place by the
new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). This assures our clients of our reputation and
ethics in our collection process. Our collectors are trained to comply with these laws before they are
allowed to start collecting on our client’s accounts. Over the course of our collector’s tenure there is
additional training in the laws and regulations mentioned above. A major component of our Compliance
Policy is recording of phone calls. We use this process to proactively grade CBA’s employees on customer
service, compliance, and effective collection techniques. We also test our collectors daily on their
knowledge of laws and best practices that govern the collection industry. We believe that continuing
education is key to providing a consistent, superior value to our clients.
